Our holy sages, the Chazal, teach us that one who studies Halachos daily is assured a portion in Olam Haba, the world to come (Talmud Niddah, 73A).  In today's hectic world, many of us don't make time to study Halacha Yomi, a daily Halacha or two, and thus give up this simple, yet monumental tradition  which has sustained us,Klal Yisroel - the Jewish Nation - throughout the ages.

Therefore, in June 2008, I started a daily email where I share two, quick, practical and easy  to understand Halachos each day, with those who have subscribed (B"H we have thousands of subscribers, from around the world). This website contains archives of the Halachos that were emailed to the group each day, as well as many of the questions received from readers and the answers we provided.

It should take a mere 30 seconds (or less) to read the Halachos each day, yet it will be the vehicle  with which we will earn the right and privilege of calling ourselves “בני עולם הבא”.

About HFT

I often receive inquiries as to who I am and why I do not post my name and credentials on my website.

For various reasons, I have started this "Halacha for Today" project anonymously.  Not posting my name also allows me to continue this work L'Shem Shamayim, as the Chazon Ish Zatzal used to tell people they should  do at least one worthwhile project in their lifetime anonymously, strictly for the Kavod of the Ribono Shel Olam. (In fact, when he first started publishing his landmark work, "Chazon Ish", he released each chapter anonymously, by placing it in the Bais Midrash, under the cover of darkness.)

Halacha for Today started as a small email which I anonymously sent to a few friends and never expected at the time that it would grow at such a rapid pace, reach such a large audience  or take up so much of my time.

All the Halachos that I write are taken directly from the Sefarim of the Poskim, and sources are given for each Halacha.  I do not write anything of my own.  Furthermore, I clearly state that the Halachos are for learning purposes only and not for Psak Halacha, as a Rav should be consulted for a final ruling.

Lastly, there are many Talmidei Chachamim, including Rabbonim with Smicha who read my emails daily and they are sure to let me know if anything I write needs revision or clarifications.

Although I am hesitant to reveal my name, I can tell you that I currently live in the  Lakewood, NJ area. I spent many years learning in Yeshivos, both in the USA and in Eretz Yisroel, and always had an interest in Halacha.  I am married to a wonderful wife and have wonderful children, Baruch Hashem.  I am a simple Yid who seeks to spread K'Vod Shamayim in the world. It is my sincere Tefilah that this website, as well as the daily Halacha/Chizuk emails accomplish just that.

I welcome questions, suggestions, ideas, comments, and even constructive criticism.  You can use the form below, or email me at Ben@HalachaForToday.com I will, Bli Neder, respond to each and every email that I receive as soon as possible.
